Yes. Yes. Yes. He did it again. Anders Jacobsen is on the right track to regain his super-power position clinching a well-deserved victory at nationals in Trondheim earlier today. Tom Hilde was second and Bardal went bronze. Last season's runner-up had some serious drawbacks to withstand throughout the past months but it seems that the bad times are over for him and he's ready to conquer the last phase of the World Cup fight.
Jacobsen was totally and overwhelmingly in a class of his own today, delivering two fantastic jumps of 137.5 and 135.5 meters and overtaking Hilde by 20.5 points. The other efforts couldn't help looking pale and dull, compared to Anders' winning ways.
Jon Aaraas showed some of his best ending up close to the medaled trio. Henning Stensrud came in fifth delivering two equally good jumps (124.5 and 125.5 m).
'If Anders presents himself in Japan just like he smashed us today, he will win the weekend for himself' - Tom Hilde commented upon Jacobsen's victory at nationals. We shall see some of that pretty soon as right after the competition Norwegian team traveled to the airport and took off to Japan. Roar Ljoekelsoey and Bjoern Einar Romoeren skipped nationals. They decided to go to Sapporo earlier than the rest of the team in order to overcome the potential jet lag inconveniences.
